Christophe Elie is a political folk artist based out of Ottawa, Canada. His songs are a narrative of the turbulent times we live in, exploring those borders of culture, tradition, religion, language and geography that intersect our lives.
"My father had the opportunity to escape the clutches of a brutal dictator in Haiti, Papa Doc. Through my parents I learned of Haiti's story, the contradiction of poverty with a picturesque country and beautiful, artistic, passionate, hardworking resilient people."
These songs present stories of struggle, as a witness to these conflict points in our society, to truly understand the struggle look deeper and further to those currently engaged in that conflict.
