Christophe Elie
Christophe Elie is a political folk artist based out of Ottawa, His songs are a narative of the turbulent times we live in, exploring those borders of culture, tradition, religion, language and geography that intersect our lives.
The narrative is explored from the perspective of those most closely impacted. "My father had the opportunity to escape the clutches is of a brutal dictator in Haiti, Papa Doc. Through my parents I learned of Haiti's story, the contradiction of poverty with a picturesque country and beautiful, artistic, passionate, hardworking resilient people."
These songs present stories of struggle, as an introduction to these conflict points in our society, to truly understand the struggle look deeper and further to those currently engaged in that conflict.
